Community Involvement

Glad to have the opportunity to help advance the impactful missions of several nonprofits at the Virginia Nonprofit Symposium & Expo at Regent University on October 21! Great causes represented by the visions of these nonprofit leaders, ranging from assistance to terminally ill single mothers, veterans and homeless assistance, mentoring for young people with mental health needs, caregivers respite, wellness, women's empowerment, churches, and more.

Enjoyed the opportunity to connect with Tiffany Arbuckle Lee (Plumb) after the Plumb / Unspoken / Dan Bremnes concert in Norfolk. Having enjoyed her artistry for the last 20 years, she is one of the most articulate, poignant communicators in the industry, often about some of the grittier aspects of life that many artists won't touch, making faith more compelling to many who feel like they are on the outside looking in. Amazingly powerful and versatile voice with faith-based music that spans rock, pop, alternative and EDM.

MusicBiz 2018

Had a great time in Nashville at this year’s MusicBiz conference! We always enjoy working with artists and industry professionals. MusicBiz allows us a fantastic opportunity to step foot into the world of those we work with and also discover some incredible talent. Looking forward to next year's conference!

“Women who Rock” rooftop concert featuring Ashley McBryde. Talk about talent!

Speaking Spirit Ministries

I had the honor of presenting to over 60 individuals at Speaking Spirit Ministries in May. We talked about the importance of building financial security and how exactly to start. I enjoyed meeting lots of new folks and sharing about what I love to do most- help plan financially for the future.

The Richmond Powerhouse

These women are phenomenal! Women business leaders and entrepreneurs came together at the Richmond Powerhouse to learn more about the importance of business planning and how each plan looks different depending on the needs of the business.

Regent University

I had the privilege of speaking at Regent University in April to discuss the impact of the new tax law on non-profits. Big thanks to Calherbe Monel who made this possible!

ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation Above & Beyond Gala

I am honored to have been a part of the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation's Gala, where over $400,000 was raised for families persevering through cancer and being strengthened by the phenomenal ASK CCF team. Many thanks to Danessa Knaupp, Jonathan Brabrand, Dr. Hood Biggers, Yasmine Hamad, and Brian Jasinkiewicz for joining us and supporting ASK!

Business Owner Seminar

How do I as a business owner attract the best and the brightest to help me grow this business? Can I get the credit I need? What if my partner dies? If I get sick or hurt and can't work, what happens to my business, to my family? Can I retire in 10 years? There's much that keeps a business owner up at night. Building and growing a successful business is hard work. Join us every other week, beginning February 2 through March 16 to participate in a workshop created specifically for business owners. We cover the most important things to consider when running a business- from business structure and asset protection to the disposition of your business.

The workshop takes place in Miller Hall Room 1069 at the William and Mary Mason School of Business. It is facilitated by Financial Advisors Jeff Hammer and Paul Roa, with special guest Ron Monark, the Managing Director of the Alan B. Miller Center of Entrepreneurship and W&M Lecturer of Business. The workshop will occur every other Friday, beginning February 2, from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Client Appreciation Event

To thank all those who are clients of mine, a client appreciation event was held at the beautifully renovated 18th century home, the Richmond Powerhouse. With delicious hors d'heurves came great company and conversations. It was the perfect way to transition into the holiday season.

Women's Leadership Luncheon

Northwestern Mutual held their annual Women's Leadership Luncheon at the beautifully decorated Jefferson Hotel. This year's speakers featured Dr. Christine Darden, one of the black women highlighted in Margot Lee Shetterly's 2016 book, "Hidden Figures", Deborah Davis, the CEO of Virginia Commonwealth University Hospitals and Clinics, and Candace Burns, an anchor for the 6pm and 11pm new casts for CBS 6 WTVR in Richmond. We had a wonderful time listening and learning from these amazing women!

ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation

The ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation hosted their 7th annual Dunkin' Donuts Munchkin Run to raise money to help and support children battling cancer. As a sponsor of the event, we were excited to hear that the money raised totaled $48,298. We are so thankful for all that ASKCCF does to support children with cancer, as well as supporting the families.

I also had the privilege this June to deliver lunches to the children at the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation. ASKCCF is an organization based out of Richmond, Virginia, that we have had the chance to partner with several times. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to spend time with such wonderful kids and partner once again with such an incredible team.

ProMusicDB: The Professional Music Credits Database featured me as one of their special guests in their Royalties, Residuals, and Retirement webinar on November 8. The webinar reached over 2,000 people! We discussed multiple ways to make the most of charitable contributions, as well as how to plan for the unknown in the volatile music industry. Huge thanks to Christy Crowl for hosting and providing such great insight on the many challenges that artists face as they navigate their journey as a musician.

Our team was honored to work with the VA Beach Northwestern Mutual office to help once again with the 94.9 CHKD Radiothon. In the first two hours of our shift, we raised more than $28,000! We are so proud of the work that CHKD is doing and has done to combat childhood cancer.

We stayed busy taking phone calls and accounting for donations to CHKD. We had such a great time together outside the office and are so thankful to have had the opportunity to take part in such a good cause!

Literacy for Life provides valuable services to the greater Williamsburg community in so many meaningful ways. It is the only organization in the area that provides individualized, one-to-one small group tutoring for adults in reading, writing, and math skills as well as instruction in English for speakers of other languages. Paul Roa and I have sponsored many events for this organization in the past, and will continue to do so.

The Charlottesville Area Planned Giving Council works on structuring planned gifts locally and around the country. Their primary purpose is to assist members in promoting contributions to worthy charitable organizations of all types and sizes. Jeff serves on the Board of Directors for the CAPGC.
